Being a bridesmaid is an extremely rewarding experience. You get to support your friend as they take a huge new step in life. Plus you get to spend a ton of time together while planning things for the wedding and going on the bachelorette party. A few weeks ago I stood by my friend as her bridesmaid when she married the love of her life. It was the most beautiful backyard wedding. Much of the decor was DIY’ed and it came out fantastic. And my friend was an absolutely beautiful bride!
We finished setting everything up after the rehearsal dinner the night before. Then I don’t think anyone slept well that night, we were all too excited. I couldn’t fall asleep and when I finally did, I kept waking up worrying I slept through my alarm. We all showed up early to make sure everything was still in place and add the final touches. Then our friend did our hair and makeup, and another bridesmaid did all the junior bridesmaids hair. We hydrated all morning to survive the 100 degree heat and the alcohol. The bride and groom weren’t allowed to see each other yet so we didn’t get to take as many pictures as we wanted. Everyone tried to spy on the bride and groom during their first look, but too many trees blocked our view.
We all wore our cowgirl boots, which looked very country and fit the theme of the backyard wedding perfectly. All of the decor was adorable and country. Plus I felt right at home in my boots! Although I’ve got my eye on the brides boots. Sometimes trying to keep weddings under a budget results in cheap or tacky looking decor. But all of the decor was so cute and perfect.
I didn’t get any other pictures after this because I didn’t have anywhere to hold my phone. And I was busy dancing with my friends anyways 🙂
