Here’s to the New Year! I am welcoming this new year with open arms (2015 was a rough one) and I am so excited for all that is to come.
I’m not a big fan of resolutions, because I feel like they set you up for failure. You’re dedicated to them for a short period of time, but then you make a mistake and realize you’ve ruined your resolution and call it quits. You forget the bigger picture and that you can just pick up and keep going. I like goals, because I like creating lists and crossing things off.
2016 Goals
Personal:
Workout regularly: I kind of fell off track with Fitmas being so sick through November and December, but I need to get back on track with my fitness goals. I signed up to participate in a running challenge and one of my goals is to run a less than 8 minute mile… I’ve got lots of work to do. I contemplated attempting a burpee mile because I saw his sister was working on that, but push ups are hard for me because I have a screwed up wrist. We’ll see..
Read more: It’s the 6th of January and I have already completed two books, I’m off to a great start on my 2016 Book Challenge (although only one of the books was for the challenge). I love relaxing and absorbing into a good book.
Eat better: Jeff and I have done really well with eating very healthy this last year, but with the odd hours for duck hunting we’ve eaten pretty poorly the last couple of weeks.
Better quality time: While I’m considering blogging to be a job and I need to work hard, Jeff and I often get distracted by my working on the blog and him playing games because he’s bored. I want to spend better quality time with him and go on more date nights!
Blog:
Grow my blog: I know that blogging isn’t all about page views, but you can’t deny it’s pretty exciting when people are coming to your blog and reading your work. So while I would like to see an increase in regular page views, I would also like to see my followers grow on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Work with brands: I would love to work with some brands this year, doing sponsored posts or reviews on products.
Work with other bloggers: I would love to grow my blog’s presence by working with other bloggers. I already have some great stuff in the works so stay tuned! But working with other bloggers will be a great way to get to know even more people.
Site design: I know this was listed in my November Goals as well as my December Goals, but it was not in my budget. Hopefully I will find a way to make it work for sometime in 2016!
Master social media: I need to be better about managing and utilizing social media for my blog. I have found Katie’s social media course extremely helpful and have learned so many great tips. But I still haven’t figured out Pinterest yet, so I’m hoping to enroll in Silvia of Heart My Backpack’s Pinterest course. She has a free 5 day email series and then I’m pretty sure you can pay for a more in depth course, which I’ll likely be doing!
Academics:
Get straight A’s: I am feeling more focused and motivated now that I’m almost done with college, so I want to finish with a bang!
Finish college: or get at close to it as I possibly can
Self-Improvement:
Be more spontaneous
Be more forgiving
Be more open minded
Calm down and remember things aren’t a big deal
Complain less
Be more focused
Stop procrastinating: who am I kidding, this will never happen ha!
I know I’m forgetting goals, because I’m always thinking of more things I want to accomplish. What are some of your goals for 2016?
