Here’s a local secret: Little Fish Coffee in Poipu and Lawai Market on the south shore are run by the same owner and offer the same excellent build-your-own açaí bowl experience. If you’re driving up the east coast through Anahola, you’ll pass Kalalea Juice Hale right on Highway 56—and you should absolutely stop. This charming roadside juice bar serves up delicious açaí bowls along with fresh-pressed juices and smoothies made to order.
What I love about Kalalea is their selection of fresh, local fruit toppings. Depending on what’s in season, you might find unique fruits you won’t see at other spots. The açaí base is delicious, the portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable.
There are outdoor picnic tables where you can sit and enjoy mountain and ocean views while you eat. It’s the perfect pit stop between north shore and east shore adventures.
