Happy New Year! Hopefully you weren’t too hungover yesterday. Jeff and I spent the day being lazy at home catching up on tv shows and I did some reading for Erin’s 2016 Book Challenge. Actually, I finished Madame Bovary (finally!) so I could get started on books for the challenge. I am so excited that it’s finally January and finally time for the challenge, after making my selections I’ve been so anxious to start reading them!
I have decided to kick off the book challenge with reading A Time to Kill by John Grisham. It is the longest book so I figured I should get it out of the way early. And Jeff’s sisters got it for me for Christmas (thank you so so much!) and it was calling to me from my bedside table. I started it last night and I couldn’t put it down! I may or may not have stayed up rather late reading.. oops. Grisham is an incredible author, his writing is just so captivating and I am so excited to read this book.
I also made an update to my book selections, so instead of reading The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho I have decided to read The Horse Whisperer by Nicholas Evans. After my horse recently passing away, I decided I wanted to incorporate a horse book into the challenge. It actually works out better because The Alchemist was slightly under 200 pages, which is the minimum page requirement for the challenge.
It’s not too late to join! Join Erin’s Facebook group and get your reading on!

Ugh, I was so hungover on the 2nd. Oops! I highly suggest you try to read The Alchemist this year (or whenever). I had to read it for a theology class in college and read it in a day out by the pool. I’m not one to re-read books (unless it’s Catcher In The Rye) but this is one I’ll read over again!
Haha I’ve definitely been there before – you’re not bringing in the New Year right if you’re not hungover on the first! I’ve read the Alchemist before but I don’t remember it, but I had to read it for school too. So I’m going to re-read it on my own 🙂
