I’ve been little absent lately, I had a little bit of blogging burnout and didn’t quite know what to blog about. I was also busy reading my books for the book challenge. But thankfully my Solidarity Sister from December has helped me focus on my blog and get through my blogging slump. So today I am introducing my solidarity sister, Mistle from Sweet Tea and Hydrangeas.
First of all, Susannah did a fantastic job pairing us up as sisters (to find out more about solidarity sisters visit Susannah’s blog Simple Moments Stick) but basically you get paired up with someone similar to you – blog niche, interests, etc. Then Susannah gives you challenges or tasks each week to encourage your getting to know one another. I thought this was such a great idea because it’s hard to initiate communication with someone and get to know them. And who doesn’t love more friends, especially blogging friends who totally get you and understand your blogging needs (your boyfriend/hubby doesn’t really understand, he just goes along with it).
When I first went to Mistle’s site, I didn’t realize I had spent over an hour stalking her blog!! The first time we talked it did feel a little bit like online dating getting to know each other asking a lot of questions, but we have soooo much in common that it ended up being so natural and easy. We were able to help and encourage each other with our blogs and I loved that we were able to talk about anything and not have it feel weird. So Mistle and I decided to do a little Q&A so readers could get to know one another a little more!
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
This is a tough one because there are so many places I’d love to live. But I’d have to say California, preferably San Francisco. I’ve been there twice and absolutely loved it.
What are your long term goals for your blog?
One of my long term goals for my blog is grow my follower base. I would love to be able to keep people coming back to read Sweet Tea & Hydrangeas. I want to continue to grow and make my blog better. I’m still fairly new to blogging, so I’m constantly learning new things. I’d also love to be able to blog full time.
Who is your biggest role model?
My grandmother. She lived in Germany during the time of the Nazi’s. The stories of what she went through, saw,etc are absolutely terrifying. I could not imagine being a young girl and having to deal with everything like she did. She has since come to America. She has gone through so much during her lifetime but still has one of the biggest hearts.
What is your biggest fear?
My biggest fear is dying. The thought of it seriously freaks me out. I know it’s really silly to have this fear because everyone dies. Having to think about it typically sends me into a panic attack.
If you had won the lottery, what would you do with your money?
If I had one the lottery this is what I would do with it:
-Pay off any debt I have.
-Take my whole family on a vacation.
-Give some to St. Jude & Wounded Warriors
-Buy a huge lot of land to build a new house
-With that huge lot of land I’d also start an animal rescue
-Take time to travel the world
-Go on a shopping spree
So basically, Mistle is amazing. I love that her biggest role model is her grandmother, what a wonderful and inspirational woman to look up to! And if Mistle moved to San Francisco, she’d be so close to me and we could open an animal rescue together!!
Follow along with Mistle on Pinterest & Instagram!! Definitely check her out, her page has amazing content and she’s just awesome.
I’m so glad that we were paired together!!! I loved getting to know more about you and hopefully one day when I come back to visit Cali, we can meet up. I can’t wait to see our friendship grow!!
