I had to wait until after Christmas to post our travel plans for 2016 because one of our vacations was a gift for Jeff. Since starting my blog in September, I have found several travel bloggers who are driving me wanderlust crazy! So I am super excited that I finally get to do some serious traveling and adventuring this year.
Silvia at Heart My Backpack: Silvia’s life is full of travel and living in foreign countries. I am so jealous of all the traveling she has done and continues to do. She travels to places “off the beaten path”, to the less popular and less crowded places that people may either have never heard of or never planned to go. I’ve always thought about moving and living abroad and her blog makes me want to pack up and go asap!
Julia at Gal Meets Glam: So many things inspire me about Julia’s blog. Her site is so chic and she has the best outfits. She also has a super creative way of showing her posts about where she’s traveled. Plus she lives close to me (Northern California) and posts so many beautiful pictures doing awesome stuff locally!
Kaelene at Unlocking Kiki: So this beautiful lady lives in Iceland! How awesome is that?! I’ve seen several friends recently talking about traveling to Iceland and I had added it to my list of places to travel when I came across her blog. I love following her Snapchat stories and her blog and seeing about life in Iceland. She has beautiful photos and has gotten to travel to so many places on my list, I’m so jealous!
Alaska
One of my best friends moved to Alaska last year, fell in love, and is now getting married this August. Then she asked me to be one of her bridesmaids! I have always wanted to go to Alaska (probably from watching Balto as a kid). One of my life goals is to see the northern lights. The best time to see the northern lights is late September through early spring (the dark months) so I’m not sure if we’ll be able to see them this time around. Either way, my friend has planned an entire week before the wedding of adventurous activities for us to do.
See my Guide to Fairbanks and my return trip to Fairbanks to try and see the Northern Lights!
Chicago
We went to Chicago last summer for a basketball tournament Jeff was coaching in, but we were so busy with the tournament that we didn’t have much time for anything else. We actually didn’t leave the hotel much because the tournament was held in the convention center connecting to the hotel. But this summer, Jeff’s sister is completing grad school so we’re all going to celebrate her graduation. My brother also lives in Chicago so it will be great to get to see him again. Hopefully this time around we can do some more sight seeing and touristy stuff.
Hawaii
I have never been to Hawaii. Ever. Am I pathetic? Jeff’s cousins parents live there so Jeff and I are going with his cousin (and hopefully his girlfriend) to go visit! We’ll have a place to stay and will only have to pay for food! Sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me. I’ll post more about what we plan to do as we start planning our trip more!
Philadelphia
As I mentioned in Christmas gifts for my family, I got Jeff two round trip tickets to the Little League World Series in August. He had mentioned wanting to go, and I figured that a vacation and trip for the two of us would be a more memorable gift!
Sacramento
While we frequent Sacramento regularly for duck hunting and visiting the barn, Lexi just moved there and I’m so excited to finally meet her!
Yosemite
This is a perfect place to go camping for Jeff and I because it’s not too far away (Central California) and it’s absolutely beautiful. And it will be so refreshing to lose cell phone reception and surround ourselves with nature for a few days. I can’t wait to hike to all the different (and beautiful) landmarks.
And I know there will be some more local spontaneous trips, like visiting my dad near Reno, going fishing at Eagle Lake, or visiting his sister in San Luis Obispo! Maybe even a trip to San Diego or Lake Tahoe. Living in California does have it’s advantages. What are your travel plans for 2016? Any other places I should add to my list for this year or future years?
Awesome places for Traveling!
I’m from Sacramento and I love going back there when we are able too.
We have a few Traveling Plans for 2016 and I’m so excited to get the year started just so we can go to these places! LOL
I feel the exact same way! I just want to get traveling! Where are you heading this year?
It sounds like this year is going to be AWESOME. I am absolutely SO jealous that you get to go to all of these places. I love Hawaii & can’t wait to go back. Chicago is definitely on the top of my list!
I’m so excited for Hawaii! I think it’s totally my style of living and I’ve never even been there haha! Chicago was pretty cool, but I think it will be even better this time around because we won’t be so busy.
These places look absolutely beautiful. I’m from Liverpool in the UK so I don’t mind living in the city but I would prefer to live in America if I could, everything looks so much more beautiful over there. Your picture of Yosemite looks stunning too. I’d love to read more about your travels as and when you decide to go away.
I’ve never read a travelling post before and I really liked yours.
Thank you! I definitely will post more as I get ready to travel and sharing while we’re traveling 🙂
Lucky girl! I would love to get out of the UK and see all these amazing places! One day for sure!
Definitely! I want to travel to all the states as well as the UK and all over Europe. I’m going to need a remote/virtual job lol!
That’s so fun that you’ll be going so many cool places this year! I’m jealous!
Thank you! I can’t wait, I just want to start packing and go now! Haha 🙂
Um, I LIVE IN PHILADELPHIA! (Or not that far) Will you be in the city at all or just sticking to Williamsport?
We have no real plans yet!! I’m sure we’ll want to adventure a little while we’re out there, so we can come to the city. We definitely have to get together!!!
