With temperatures dropping and dryer fall air, my lips have been needing some extra care. Especially with just getting over a wicked cold, my lips have been more chapped than normal. Nobody liked chapped, flaky lips. So I love to use a DIY lip scrub to exfoliate my lips once or twice a week. Or when I’m going to wear a bold, dark lip color for fall. A dark lipstick highlights your lips and draws unwanted attention to your lips by emphasizing any dryness and flakiness. And nobody likes kissing chapped lips!
So I’m sharing two easy DIY lip scrub recipes perfect for fall that will exfoliate your lips, leaving them soft and beautiful! Both recipes use natural ingredients. And they are easy and fun to do with friends since you’ll have enough leftover. And you can store the scrub for up to 2 weeks in a glass jar in the refrigerator.
DIY Lip Scrub Recipe One
2 tbsp Brown Sugar
1 tbsp Sugar
1 tbsp Organic Honey
1.5 tbsp Olive Oil or Coconut Oil
I tend to use olive oil over coconut oil because I keep my coconut oil in the refrigerator. So it’s more work to heat up the coconut oil.
DIY Lip Scrub Recipe Two
2 tbsp sugar
1.5 tsp cinnamon powder
1 tbsp olive oil or coconut oil
This scrub is my favorite because it smells like cinnamon cookies!
Store in a glass jar with a lid in the refrigerator. This should last about two weeks. I’m using an old Clinique moisture surge jar!
After using the lip scrub I like to use a hydrating lip balm to moisturize and soften my lips. I love this Tatcha one and this Fresh one. These lip treatments can be used alone or under lipstick. I haven’t tried the GlamGlow lip treatment yet, but it’s in my shopping cart! I’ve linked a few other lip treatments below!
